A quote for thought

The world within me is indeed much more real than the extraneous world without.  Some have often reproached me with inability to acknowledge the movement from within outward – achievement, realization, success, victory … It is true that I have no liking for the victors and the successful:  they seem to me to pursue the course of mere adaptation to a world which is situated in evil and is largely evil.  I do not … believe in the possibility of true realization on the level of an alienated, objectified universe: tragedy has struck too deep at the heart of the world.

  1. I disagree. The outside world is just as extraneous as the one within, as the outside world is based on the framework that you perceive it in, and is therefore a reflection of your sentiment. A world can not be “largely evil”, as that is applying subjectivity to an accepted objective reality.

  2. If the outside world is a reflection of your sentiment than it cannot be an objective reality.

I don’t necessarily agree with the quote, but i did find it interesting…particularly in it’s similarity to some strains of Eastern thought. If the exterior world is largely evil but also a creation of the interior, then a person has the ability to amend the exterior with the interior.

Or as George Clinton would say, “Free your mind and your ass will follow.”

    Thanks for stopping by.
